    My old contactor has very large power supply wires and screw down lugs (220v) and my new replacement contactor has very small terminals (Spade/fork or ring). How do you put some small terminals on such large wires? Any help is greatly appreciated. Love the videos Sir. Thanks in advance for any help :)

    This video saved my butt!! You tha man!!! My next question is, is there a special connection for this type of wiring to connect to a smart wifi themostat?

    • @TheMaintenanceMan
      @TheMaintenanceMan 15 дней назад

      Yes, the green fan wire can be substituted to make the WiFi thermostat function but you’ll loose the ‘fan on’ feature. It’s always best to install the right thing and just put in a new thermostat wire with the corresponding number and color of wires.

    For you sir or anyone.....I have a stubborn rubber piece that does not want to fit over top of the spring and be seated inside the hole. Is there a failsafe method or trick to get that rubber piece to fit? The spring is correctly in with the narrower part facing outward, I could not get the rubber piece to go into the hole. Thanks in advance!

    • @TheMaintenanceMan
      @TheMaintenanceMan Месяц назад

      The trick is patience. I have spent way too much time on getting them to go in before. If you can get the edge tucked in all the way around but they sit a little high on top of the spring, you’re good. Put it all back together and they will be fine. If the edge isn’t all the way tucked in and you try to put it back together, you will still have issues. Hope that helps.

    Nice video and cleared up a couple of questions for me. Thank you. Suggestion: when you're giving instructions is best to not use terms like "you kinda do this or you kinda do that" Either you do or you don't Telling someone you kinda do this sounds vague and implies it's not really important if you do or don't. In repairs some things are very important and should be presented that way.

    • @TheMaintenanceMan
      @TheMaintenanceMan Месяц назад

      @ronaldestrada7107 You need to use a toilet snake. They are different. There’s a metal tube that protects the porcelain in your tank from the steel of the coil. If you use this style of snake you will potentially ruin your toilet.

    • @TheMaintenanceMan
      @TheMaintenanceMan 2 месяца назад

      The gel collapses in on itself like the backing on a command strip. You just have to get a hold on the corner of it and pull slowly. It will let go of both surfaces if it’s done right. Otherwise, it’s definitely a fight to get it off a different way.

    What’s cool with these is the typically thread right through the bathtub or kitchen drain.. Often you don’t have to take the trap off, etc. . It’s a little small for going into your basement pipe like that . But if it works it works just be careful not to her it stuck .,

    This stuff is great to a patch under something or in a spot that will not be seen...not every patch needs to be perfect depending on where the area is. For some people using this is just what they need. Thanks!
